CMP to launch green scheme

The focus of Chloride Motive Power's stand at IMHX will be to demonstrate the environmental credentials of its product range. The aim is to allow customers to make an informed choice on the right solution for their business, taking both the commercial and environmental impact into consideration. In addition to highlighting the inherent benefits of 'clean, quiet power', CMP will be exhibiting cutting edge-technology such as their 'Copper Stretched Metal' battery and their new improved range of chargers. The CMP team will be on hand to inform customers of their battery collection and recycling scheme. Also, in an industry first, CMP will be launching a new grading scheme which will help customers gauge the efficiency of products and allow them to select products based on a number of criteria to dovetail with their own environmental initiatives.

Nigel Darke, Business Director of CMP comments, “Rising energy prices and the climate change levy are putting pressure on industry at a time when global competition is increasing. Global warming is also a threat that can't be ignored and all businesses have a corporate responsibility to look closely at their environmental 'footprint'. At CMP, we have been looking at ourselves as a company and implementing initiatives that reduce waste and improving our own production processes. On the other side of the coin, we have invested a great deal of time and money in developing batteries, chargers and ancillary products that optimise efficiency to deliver cost and environmental benefits to customers. Our new grading scheme will make this totally transparent to customers. Then, at the end of a product's life, we are ensuring that most components from our batteries and chargers can be recycled.”
