Last week, Swindon based telematics specialists CMS SupaTrak were awarded the IT Innovation trophy for the second year running at the GreenFleet Awards. The awards ceremony, held at the Emirates Stadium in London and hosted by TV comedian Rufus Hound attracted over 350 industry professionals, all supporting the progressive drive towards sustainable business transport and low carbon fleets.
The 2010 GreenFleet Awards received a record amount of entries, which demonstrates that more and more organisations are now pushing towards new low carbon strategies for transport.
CMS SupaTrak focuses on developing low carbon and fuel saving solutions to help fleet operators reduce their operating costs and environmental impact. The IT Innovation Award examines the latest advancements in fleet technology, including fleet management software, telematics, route tracking and other IT related transport technology.
CMS SupaTrak emerged as the winners on Thursday night for their EcoTrak fuel saving technology. The judges announced that "EcoTrak technology provides real time information on how a vehicle is being driven, including analysis of parameters such as speed, MPG, over revving, harsh braking, harsh accelerating etc. In response to customer feedback, CMS have now included the development of the Safer Driving Assistant, an interactive in-cab display that reacts in real time to the driving style, displaying alerts when the vehicle is being driven inefficiently."
Jason Airey, Managing Director at CMS SupaTrak says that "we are very proud to have won this award two years running. It is testament to the hard work and dedication we have put in to develop innovative solutions to benefit the transport industry. Working with our customers, we are helping them to reduce their fuel costs by up to 20 per cent and their carbon reductions are significant."
