Two announcements from show organiser, easyFairs, have all the hallmarks of being a 'step-change' moment for Maintec which returns to the NEC, Birmingham next March. Following a highly successful 2013 show, easyFairs has announced two major show co-locations for Maintec 2014.
The first of these complementary shows is Facilities Management. Organised by easyFairs, and run at the NEC alongside Maintec from 11-13 March, this brand new show, is a huge development for facilities, property and estate managers, as it will be the only event for them run outside London.
It's a logical fit as many Maintec visitors also have a wider facilities management remit as Matt Benyon, Managing Director of easyFairs UK explains: "There is a huge overlap between the professionals attending Maintec and those involved in facilities management. Furthermore a vast number of decision makers overseeing premises and facilities are based near the Midlands and as a result the launch of Facilities Management at the NEC will provide a perfect fit for their sourcing requirements.
The market place has reacted warmly to the co-location with DHL, Emerson Industrial Automation, Amey, Coo-Var and Parrs, just some of the major names supporting the show next year.
Marcus Davey, Amey's Facilities Manager comments: "I welcome a new Facilities Management show to Birmingham. Having it in the centre of the UK will draw people nationwide. Dealing with both industrial maintenance and facilitates management, having the show co-located with Maintec will be a major pull knowing I can source the latest products and services in one day"
Mark Ward, Facilities Manager at DHL agrees: "As a Midlands based company, having a new facilities show in Birmingham is very convenient for us. Facilities management encompasses so many aspects including maintenance and health & safety, it is great to see a new show launching, catering for all the needs of facilities managers across the UK."
Maintec 2014 will also be co-located with the new Health & Safety Event. This is another smart fit as the UK's maintenance, plant and asset management community increasingly has to consider health and safety issues.
As Lindsay Owen, Plant Systems Engineer, Emerson Industrial Automation confirms: "Facilities management, maintenance and health & safety are very important to our business. Having three co-located shows encompassing all aspects in a convenient location is the perfect opportunity for us to network and meet new suppliers without having to spend too much time out of the office."
Added to this, visitors will have plenty to see on Maintec's own show floor, including a return of the Business Strategy Conference which made such an impressive debut this year, The Maintenance Exchange featuring a rich programme of practical presentations, the Maintec Maintenance Professional Awards, a growing HAZEX area plus a hall of exhibitors.
easyFairs' Matt Benyon, concludes: "We had a tremendous 2013 show, but we never stand still. When looking at what we could do to drive even more visitors and provide yet more relevant show content, it's fair to say that facilities management and health and safety topped our lists.
"That's why we're extremely excited by these co-locations. Maintec 2014 will be a huge magnet for all those with an engineering, maintenance, facilities management or health and safety remit. That's why there has never been a better moment for companies to exhibit at the show."
