Collett Transport Services wins major industry award

Gloucester-based organisation Collett Transport Services has developed a long-standing involvement with the Municipal vehicle industry. The company’s experience in this niche market sector has been recognised recently at the 2011 Plant & Waste Recycling Show (PAWRS) at Paignton, where Collett Transport Services was awarded the Municipal Vehicle Rental Fleet of the Year Award – 2011.

The PAWRS award was achieved in recognition of CTS being the leading private sector organisation hiring vehicles to municipal organisations. A number of different manufacturer’s trucks are employed within the 120-strong rental fleet depending upon gross vehicle weight. At 7.5 tonnes however the mainstay of the Collett fleet is the Isuzu N75.190 Forward model and this should come as no surprise because another arm of the Collett business is the Isuzu truck franchise under the banner of Collett Isuzu Gloucester.

As Andy Collett, managing director, Collett Transport Services said, "The Plant & Waste Recycling Awards are designed to promote industry innovation and excellence. It’s a credit to the whole company that we were originally nominated, but we are delighted and proud to have ended up as the ultimate winner. We have worked really hard to ensure that we provide our customers with a high quality service. We also take great pride in the condition of the vehicles that we offer to our customers and congratulations must go to the team for all their hard work."

Following this recent success at the PAWRS Exhibition the company has also successfully hosted the South West and Wales Municipal Vehicle Exhibition (with CIWM Regional Conference) in July at their Isuzu dealer premises in Gloucester.

Concurrent with the exhibition was a full demonstration of the Isuzu municipal truck range together with a ‘Ride and Drive’ facility for visitors to the exhibition. Such was the success of the event that Collett’s is now taking enquiries for the 2012 Exhibition.
