Continuing investment by Onward Holdings in Castleford warehouse

Onward Holdings Ltd is continuing to invest in personnel and equipment at its new warehouse site in the North of England, available to businesses seeking a prime, managed warehouse location with excellent facilities for their logistics operations.

John Storey has recently taken over as Operations Director at the purpose built warehousing complex prominently located in the heart of Yorkshire close to the major motorway networks such as the A1 and M1.

In addition to Mr Storey’s appointment to oversee daily operations, Onward Holdings has equipped the Willowbridge Lane facility in Castleford with more onsite fork lifts that can handle pallets, IBCs and other items up to three tonnes, whilst for those with non-rigid packaging, the warehouse can individually handball sacks and cartons up to 50kg in weight on to pallets.

These investments complement the Castleford warehouse’s flexibility, which allows for pallet racked and bulked storage space with two dock level loading doors and several ground level loading doors, including covered loading bays, to facilitate the handling of food related items, computerised order picking and various pallet handling solutions.

Offering a choice of units for long and short-term leases, ranging from 30,000 to over 100,000 square feet, suitable for both durable cargo and ambient food storage, these 24/7 secure monitored premises are ideal for those seeking either space rental or handling and picking services.

This superb facility, which also boasts additional supporting office space, is suitable for fast product turnaround and provides cross docking opportunities plus detailed order picking, should this be required. There is also generous external manoeuvring area available to enable trunking turnarounds and trailer drop service.

Castleford is within easy reach of the northern container ports, Doncaster Airport and the railway freight network via the nearby Wakefield Europort. According to Onward Holdings around 80% of the UK’s population is accessible in four hours, making the site ideal for bulk distribution items.

Onward Holdings director, Neil Storey, said: “Our latest investments in people and equipment at Castleford enhance this prime site for logistics operations. The warehouse is situated within one of the most sought after northern distribution locations in the UK. With easy access to the transport network and the quality of the units, it is perfect for those involved in logistics.”

West Yorkshire-based Onward Holdings is a family-run business which specialises in operating highly competitively priced industrial warehousing and retail parks. Promotion of the site is being undertaken by Andrew Miller Chartered Surveyors of Sheffield.
