The Wirral-based company specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of conveyor systems.
Sovex has sold vehicle loaders to TGW Logistics Group, in Paris; Office Depot, in Sweden; and Schaefer, in Germany, as a direct result of establishing a new joint venture, Sovex Europe.
The joint venture was set up to sell Sovex products across Europe from a distribution centre and showroom in Holland.
The company expects to achieve further organic growth after a management team attended prestigious trade fair LogiMAT, in Germany.
This has already resulted in direct sales leads from Israel, the US and India.
Managing director David Lindfield believes these developments will assist the company’s ambitious growth plan to boost turnover by 50 per cent from £8m to £12m this year.
Mr Lindfield said: "The joint venture in Holland is already bearing fruit. Considering we only opened there in November of last year the results in just five months have been excellent.
"LogiMAT allowed us to build on that success in Europe. We had conversations with US and German parcel handling firms and we were talking to people about how Sovex might play a role in India’s automation industry.
"Not only that but it was very valuable in terms of networking with our suppliers and current customers."
The Sovex team shipped their trademark Bendy Boom with them to LogiMAT sparking curious looks and questions from onlookers. The unique telescopic boom conveyor extends into vehicles, sea containers, transit vans and everything in between – and drastically reduces the time and manpower required to load and unload products.
Mr Lindfield said: "The Bendy Boom caught everyone’s eye. Because it was designed and built at Sovex’s Wirral headquarters it was a great conversation starter about our engineering talent and manufacturing prowess."
