Courier company welcomes NCA validation

A Basildon-based courier company has been welcomed to the National Courier Association after completing an intensive vetting process for its base at Welwyn Garden City.

Managing Director at Abby Couriers, Mr Mark Giles, said: "The National Courier Association was founded in 1988 to increase the quality and scope of the service that the smaller, independent courier company could offer to its clients.

"The NCA achieves this through a network of around 100 depots representing all the major areas of the UK, and more recently, Eire.

"The NCA collectively has a fleet of around 2,500 vehicles at its disposal, from pushbikes (primarily in the London area) and motorcycles, through vans of all shapes and sizes, right up to 7.5 and 17 ton trucks.

"Joining the NCA is not easy. Prior to being granted 'Provisional Membership' for a twelve month period, all prospective members are vetted to ensure they have a good track record and are able to comply with the needs of the Association (and, most importantly, its clients),

"We are pleased that Abby Couriers base at Welwyn Garden City has met the criteria set down by the NCA band during 2009 we will be looking to extend that accreditation to our other depots across London, East Anglia and the South East.
