Cross Country Carriers capitalises on growing demand for produce

Bury St Edmunds-based distribution specialists Cross Country Carriers, a member of the Palletways network, have been awarded an Organic Accreditation by the Organic Food Federation, allowing them to store organic produce in their warehouse.

This award, recognising full compliance with EU standards, grants local organic food producers and sellers in the region access to Cross Country Carriers’ impressive 56,000 square foot warehouse to store their produce.

Jon Humphrey, Managing Director of Cross Country Carriers, commented: "The growing demand for organic produce around the UK has created an opportunity for well-located providers of advanced storage facilities. We are delighted to have complied with the high standards required to expand into this market.’"

Cross Country Carriers, which is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2013, is one of over 100 members in the Palletways UK network – Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network. The company’s distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share each other’s resources to deliver small consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.
