Culina secures Uniq deal

Culina Logistics has secured a major supply chain contract with leading own-label chilled desserts producer, Uniq plc.
From the start of April 2007, Culina will store and distribute a wide range of products from its Market Drayton distribution centre to major supermarket retailers.

Rien Brakel, managing director of Culina Logistics, said: “This is a major win for Culina and further strengthens our position in the market as the premium shared-user chilled logistics services provider.”

Culina will manage storage, stock control and the collection of inbound stock from Uniq production facilities at Minsterley in Shropshire and Paignton in Devon.

Orders are received by EDI (electronic data interchange) and picked using hand held RDT (radio data transfer) scanners.

Phil Lovell, organisation & change director at Uniq, said: “I've been really impressed by the people we are dealing with as well as the
company's attitude to customer service. Culina has an excellent track record and the right experience to make this relationship a success.”
