Leeds, UK, 07 October 2008 – Masternaut Three X has won a major contract to provide a fully integrated Europe-wide tracking solution to Currie European. The contract covers the company's entire fleet of 420 trailers and currently 80 owned tractor units. Currie European will be able to gain greater control of costs through improved visibility of its vehicles and trailers, whether they are in the UK or on the continent.
The real-time, web-based service integrates with a Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Supplied by Masternaut Three X Business Solutions arm, this system will enable Currie European to provide its customers with real-time information about their freight.
Currie European is headquartered in Dumfries and specialise in transport, logistics and warehousing. As well as providing operational efficiencies for the company, Masternaut will provide comprehensive asset utilisation reports, to help the fleet management team to maximise the efficient use of tractors and trailers.
“We anticipate that the new system will enable us to achieve efficiency improvements and our opening target is to make this investment cost neutral. We have immediately implemented some of the Masternaut reporting functions to give us an instant and accurate view of vehicles idling their engines for more than 15 minutes and also to identify trailers that are at standstill,” said Steve Walls, Business Systems Director, Currie European.
The company will also roll out the MasterCold solution on its refrigerated units, which utilises the Masternaut mobile collection unit, therefore eliminating the need for conventional temperature recorders and dataloggers. This logs temperatures continuously, transmitting them live over the web, and provides automatic alerts if temperatures go out of range. As an integrated part of the Masternaut system, Currie European will be able to instantly locate the trailer and rectify the problem.
“The new system underpins our forward-thinking philosophy on utilising technology that provides real benefits for the company and ultimately for our customers,” concludes Walls.
