'DeltaWMS' series developed for third party logistics, distribution, manufacturing and bonded warehouse markets
11 December 2007 --- DeltaWMS, the UK's fastest growing supplier of interactive warehouse management systems is launching four specialist-market versions of its software, the company announced today. DeltaWMS:Bond, which has been "developed with users and H.M. Revenue & Customs to set a new bonded warehouse system benchmark", say Delta, will launch alongside three other versions of DeltaWMS, developed for Third Party Logistics, Distribution and Manufacturing users.
DeltaWMS is a just-in-time supply chain technology specialist. The company claims an industry first for the graphical map that is used in all DeltaWMS systems to manage warehouse inventory interactively and in real-time - optimising productivity and delivering measurable supply chain improvements, say Delta. The company will use voice, barcode scanning, radio frequency, RFID and other technologies to extend the power and reach of its four DeltaWMS systems.
Commenting on the launch, Delta director Lance Bennett says: "Our open-database systems have been developed with users, for users. They can be quickly and cost-effectively integrated with any single- or multi-site enterprise or smaller business environment to deliver immediate bottom line benefits and a faster return on investment".
DeltaWMS systems: a user perspective
The warehouse management systems announced today are DeltaWMS:Third Party Logistics, DeltaWMS:Distribution, DeltaWMS:Manufacturing and DeltaWMS:Bond. DeltaWMS EDI interfaces use Microsoft's industry-standard DTS technology to simplify integration with core supply chain applications such as SAP, Sage, Navision and others.
For paper-based put-away and picking, barcode scanning or fully functional radio frequency (RF) warehouse environments all DeltaWMS systems have been developed to improve stock location accuracy, reduce labour costs and enhance customer service levels. They provide full stock traceability - from point of receipt to point of despatch - for every item that moves through the warehouse.
The DeltaWMS web browser module allows both the user and their customer to directly manage stock and orders from anywhere in the world, 24/7 and in real-time, improving customer service and reducing administration. Powerful reporting functions within the DeltaWMS environment allow an organisation to manage all aspects of warehouse operation, including individual performance: while email integration allows reports to be sent to staff, customers or suppliers, 24/7.
High product definition flexibility enables multiple storage and picking methods. User-defined parameters make it possible to define virtually any stock item regardless of shape, size, unit of measure or unit quantity, with stock (for example) defined as palletised, unpalletised or mixed, and storage areas defined as ambient, chilled, frozen etc. Locations can be defined (for example) as bulk, block stack, racked, narrow aisle, P&D, pick-face, or quarantine.
DeltaWMS:Bond provides a comprehensive audit trail and is fully compliant with HMR&C Notices 197 and 232 for the operation of alcohol and tobacco warehouses. Reporting via DeltaWMS:Bond significantly reduces administration costs by producing documents that are facsimiles of the HMC&E approved forms.
