Deputy Mayor opens Norbert Dentressangle new Hounslow site

The Worshipful The Deputy Mayor of the London Borough of Hounslow, Councillor Barbara Harris, officially opened Norbert Dentressangle's new distribution centre in Hounslow, West London, on 22nd October 2009.

The new site, which is on the Fairway Trading Estate, is almost 50,000 sq ft (4,650 sq m) and has created 70 new jobs, from warehouse operatives and lgv drivers to administration and support staff.

The company has made a significant investment in the facility to convert the building into a high-quality distribution centre that can meet the demand from customers and provide cost effective services to surrounding businesses.

As well as the Deputy Mayor, guests included Gupreet Singh, President of the Hounslow Chamber of Commerce and former role holder, Les Robinson.

Attending the event from Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services were Managing Director Steve MacDonald, Sebastien Desremeaux (Operations Director - South) and Stuart Lloyd (Sales and Marketing Director).

"The economy may be tough at the moment but there remains the opportunity for providers of flexible, cost effective distribution services to secure new business and support companies in London and surrounding area," says Lloyd.

"We've already had a very positive response from our existing customers, as well as several businesses in the local region, and expect to expand our operations further going forward."

Close to Heathrow Airport and under 15 miles from Central London, Hounslow is the ideal location to link directly into Norbert Dentressangle's UK and international distribution network. It also enables the company to further develop its service offering for customers throughout the South of England.
