Transaid is our industry's charity, established by Save the Children and CILT to tackle poverty and disadvantage by building transport skills and knowledge in the developing world. Clare Bottle will give a presentation explaining how Transaid's work improves people's health, wealth and happiness in sub-Saharan Africa. Clare's talk will be illustrated with practical examples of specific Transaid projects, including work she carried out in April 2008 with CILT Zambia Section. This project's aim was to develop CILT's new 5 year plan to support transport and logistics professionals and promote internationally recognised skills and training in Lusaka and throughout Zambia.
