Doblexpress, a South West logistics specialist has joined the UPN pallet network, to help it support business growth in the high value delivery sector.
The Somerset business has grown significantly since it was established in 2003 and won many new clients in high-value and time sensitive market sectors. The company has gained a strong reputation in a number of specialist markets, including shop-fitting, factory handling and the high-end print sector. In every case, its customers require deliveries to coincide with the arrival of skilled teams of engineering or installation staff on site, or with tight deadline delivery windows. In simple terms, late deliveries are unacceptable and very costly.
Anthony Bucke, founding Director at Doblexpress and a 30-year veteran of the logistics industry explains:
Over recent years, we have seen increasing demand from our customers for next-day deliveries of palletised freight. Our reputation in the high value sector makes it critical for us to partner with a network that is more geared towards high quality service, rather than chasing high volumes. With the UPN network, we feel that we are joining a network where quality comes first and the technology to deliver real time proof of delivery to our clients is a real bonus for us. Our clients now have access to very cost effective services for small consignments and we can tackle some exciting new market sectors with this service offering."
At the end of 2006, Doblexpress moved to new, extended premises at the Ilmister Logistics Centre. It provides an extra 15,000 sq feet of warehousing, together with safe storage for around 1,000 pallets. The company is also developing a range of pick and pack and value added services to support its push into the next day pallet service.
Simon Hazelgrove, National Sales Director at UPN added:
"Doblexpress is a great new partner and we are delighted that it has chosen UPN. Our focus on quality will clearly help it differentiate and its customers will benefit from the UPN approach. Real-time signature capture is something that many networks are talking about but we have it up and running today. Doblexpress has gained a strong reputation in the same day sector and we look forward to helping it develop as strong a reputation in the next-day sector."
