Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire 20th September 2007. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport - CILT -is hosting its first Road, Passenger and Freight Transport Event in the Midlands. This is your chance to take the wheel of a 25.5m long 'road train' super-truck, full length coach or bio-fuel prototype vehicle – whether you've got a licence or not! At the same time, you'll find out the very latest in logistics and passenger transport technical developments and best practice.
This unique event is a key diary date for all road transport operators, transport managers and prospective managers. The event will highlight the important issues which will impact on the industry now and in the future. There will be opportunities for all attendees to meet leading professionals in similar situations to themselves and their clients.

Young Professionals' Workshop
This workshop is aimed at providing the industry management of the future with the opportunity to find out how they can take their career forward and fulfil their aspirations. There will also be a CV clinic run by BJD Group, so bring your CV.
Road Transport Vehicle Operators' Workshops
The afternoon workshops provide vehicle operators and management with workshops held by professionals who lead in their areas of expertise.
Staff Training and Development
The key to a successful road transport business is well-trained professional staff at all levels. This session will unravel the mysteries of government funding, inform vehicle operators of the facilities available from the Logistics and Transport Centres of Excellence and opportunities to develop staff and comply with future legislative requirements. There will be specific sessions on the forthcoming Drivers CPC.
Legal Update
· Gary Hodgson, Ford & Warren, one of the UK's leading transport solicitors will present on legislation tachograph prosecutions / offences
· Stoneridge Electronics will be making a presentation on the provision of digital tachograph solutions
'O' Licence Compliance
· This session will provide an update on legislation, current and future, vehicle operator obligations and compliance, and the application and interpretation of industry legislation. VOSA will present on operator monitoring and enforcement.

· Find out how this scheme assists vehicle operators to improve their operational efficiency and updates to the scheme
