DS Smith Recycling, a leading recycling and waste management company, has boosted its operations with the purchase of four new state-of-the-art collection vehicles. The sophisticated recycling trucks have segregated bodies which allow simultaneous collection of three different types of materials; clear glass, coloured glass and cans and bottles.
With these vehicles, DS Smith Recycling is able to minimise vehicle movements by collecting three loads of materials from customers at one time. The vehicles will operate from the company's recycling facilities in Bedwas, Bolton, Keynsham and Pyebridge.
Historically a paper and cardboard recycling company, DS Smith Recycling has diversified in recent years to provide total waste management solutions. The purchase of the segregated glass vehicles is part of the business investing in state-of-the-art recycling equipment to deliver a sustainable, efficient and all-encompassing service to customers. The DAF trucks have been adapted to include a three-lift Terberg toploading body which is compatible with standard glass recycling containers.
DS Smith Recycling's transport and logistics director, Dave Nightingill, said: "The purchase of these recycling vehicles illustrates that we are committed to investing in our own infrastructure to be as efficient and sustainable as the recycling solutions we provide to our customers."
