UTC Aerospace Systems has awarded DSV Air & Sea Limited a three year logistics contract thanks to the breadth and quality of service it is able to offer.
DSV Air & Sea Limited will handle all UTC Aerospace System’s national and international transport requirements for both inbound and outbound cargo for the UK.
The contract starting 1 October 2012, will be operated by DSV Air & Sea Limited’s specialist Aerospace team, who have many years’ experience working with aerospace companies.
Stuart McNair, Supply Chain Business Leader, Aerostructures, UTC Aerospace Systems, says: "The freight industry is one of high competition. There were many companies that had the capability, competitiveness and breadth of service to support us but what set DSV apart was their hunger not only to provide a professional freight service but to be part of our internal CI (continuous improvement) drive to be the quickest and easiest Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul station (MRO) for our customers to deal with.
"As a supply chain team, the biggest benefit we can offer to our business is to select partners that will add real value to our business. I am confident we have been successful on this occasion and I look forward to the high quality service and improvement activity that everyone here at UTAS in Prestwick is sure will be provided by DSV."
DSV Air & Sea Limited UK Managing Director Michael Hansen adds: "This is a great success for our aerospace team, and helps to strengthen our position within the aerospace logistics sector, proving again that we are a key supplier for major aerospace companies.
"We understand one of the fundamental reasons for being awarded the contact was our ability to be flexible and to design a bespoke solution, taking into account the specific requirements of UTC and its customers. We look forward to becoming a strategic partner to UTC for many years to come, and to play a vital role in their on-going commitment to becoming the most efficient MRO station. "
In March 2011, DSV Air & Sea Limited unified its aerospace divisions around the world into a single global Aerospace Organisation to bring together its specialist knowledge in the industry vertical and enhance the service level it is able to offer clients.
