Dynamic Storage Systems wins design contract from fashion retailer

Dynamic Storage Systems (DSS) has secured a significant contract to design a complex storage solution. The project involved maximising the storage of palletised boxes within a London warehouse for a global fashion retailer.

To meet a growing global demand, the company identified a need to invest in a specialised warehouse design to ensure maximum efficiency from its order picking and distribution operation.

DSS secured the contract based on its innovative design that incorporated a high bay shelving system, bespoke wire mesh shelves and dividers, pallet racking and mesh decking. Significantly, the proposed installation featured over 113,000 carton locations within approximately 12,000 linear metres of shelving plus the creation of 530 pallet spaces. Other elements included an in-rack and roof sprinkler system, comprehensive signage and labelling plus guidance rails for order picking trucks.

The warehouse design from DSS ensured the creation of exceptional storage capacity and allows the retailer to store and pick efficiently its full range of high end products. Several VNA order picking trucks, fitted with special roll cages, support the facility and are linked to the main despatch operation and warehouse management system.

“We are delighted to have been successful in winning this prestigious design contract,” says Howard Gillard, Managing Director of Dynamic Storage Systems. “Utilising our many years of experience in creating complex warehouse layouts, we have devised an innovative solution to help our customer meet the challenges of its fast-paced industry whilst providing the best possible service to its discerning clientele.”
