easyFairs PACKAGING 2011 showcases latest digital print technology

For the very latest developments in digital print head to the ‘Print for Packaging Zone’ at easyFairs PACKAGING 2011 show where many products will be displayed and demonstrated for the very first time in the UK.

Packaging is the face of the brand, but print is the voice of the product on the shelf. It effects how well it’s seen, heard and can be the defining point of differentiation between deal or no deal.

Matt Benyon, Managing Director of easyFairs UK, comments: "Refreshing a brand’s on-pack messaging can enhance a products selling ability and with more and more consumers looking for that eco-message, it is one zone retail marketers should not miss, they will see how customised communication is so easily achieved with a click of a button."

With big name manufacturers and suppliers exhibiting at the ‘Print for Packaging Zone’ within PACKTECH, this is the perfect opportunity to see what the latest digital technology can offer and what options are available to refreshing product messaging.

One of the companies who will be displaying their latest developments is Hewlett- Packard (Stand G17), one of the world’s largest technology companies will be showcasing a diverse range of innovative, high-quality applications, printed on the HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press and the HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press. Used by many of the world’s leading converters to produce labels and packaging for blue-chip companies, HP Indigo digital presses print on a broad range of substrates, including flexible packaging, shrink sleeves, folding cartons and a wide variety of label stocks.

Julia Cole, UK & Ireland Marketing Manager, HP Indigo Digital Press, Graphic Solutions Business, comments: "With the new HP ElectroInk White, the industry’s first white ink for sheetfed digital presses, HP Indigo 7500 and WS6000 Digital Press users can print full-colour images on transparent, coloured or other substrates, further expanding the variety of products within their portfolios. Both presses also feature a wide colour gamut, with 4, 6 or 7 colour PANTONE Emulation, and this capability, coupled with high print quality, has enabled the production of some outstanding products on show at PACKTECH 2011."

DuPont Packaging Graphics (Stand F14) will be showcasing their developments in the flexographic printing industry’s with their latest innovation called Cyrel FAST round.

Utilising the Cyrel FAST thermal flexographic plate making technology (completely solvent-free) and their new sleeve manufacturing facility in America, DuPont is able to combine the two processes and offer the marketplace quick, efficient, consistent, high quality, greater register accuracy printing and an environmentally conscious method of producing flexographic printing sleeves for flexo presses in half an hour.

Paul Hammons, Sales Manager in the UK for Du Pont UK Ltd, explains: "By using Cyrel FAST round sleeves on a press instead of flat plates, many preconceived ideas are challenged. At the very least it represents new design opportunities for brand owners, designers and retailers whilst enabling printers and tradeshops to open new market segment opportunities to grow their business."

KTEC GROUP (stand G6) will be launching their revolutionary two desk side machine CX1200e (colour label roll printer) and FX1200e (digital laminator, shape cutter and finisher) that can be used by any company to produce custom labels for product and packaging.

One of the UK’s leading suppliers of Management Information Systems to the packaging industry Shuttleworth Business Systems (Stand G12), will be showing the latest developments of their powerful integrated MIS package.

Visitors will be able to see the new ‘Supply Chain Management’ software, a first for the packaging industry. Hosted by Shuttleworth it requires no infrastructure investment to take advantage of the functionality as it is all delivered over the web.

Paul Deane, Joint Managing Director of Shuttleworth stated "We are aiming to use this occasion to inspire the packaging industry by providing new MIS developments and solutions that can be used to help customers add value to their business, increasing their business levels and profitability."
