Energising supply chain operations with Total Logistics

Senior supply chain professionals within the energy and utilities sector will hear about global best practice case studies at a seminar organised by independent supply chain consultants Total Logistics. Delegates will be shown how to transform their supply chain activity by applying the latest proven best practice, via a series of interactive presentations from within the utilities industry and other sectors.

Research conducted by Total Logistics revealed a growing desire across the sector to develop the knowledge and skills required to implement intelligent processes which can drive down cost and improve performance. The research suggested that senior management were keen to hear how companies had managed change through the implementation of robust solutions in supply chain planning and operational optimisation.

Speaking at the event are some of the industry’s top supply chain professionals who have successfully delivered supply chain efficiencies and best practice for leading household brands. Martin Ball, head of logistics at Twinings will talk about ‘Excellence in Sales and Operations Planning’; David Collis, Logistics Manager at UK Power Networks (formerly EDF Energy Networks), will provide insight into ‘Implementing Best Practice’; and Andy Keith, Managing Director at Total Logistics will be holding a workshop on ‘Collaborative Operations’ and will provide examples and case studies of robust solutions that have been previously implemented.

Les Beaumont, project director at Total Logistics, comments: "Having spent many years working in the energy and utilities sector, Total Logistics have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in this area. With many companies realising that strategic changes in their logistics operations can uncover impressive improvements in supply chain performance, this seminar and networking event is especially relevant in a time where costs are rising in many other areas."

The Total Logistics 2011 seminar on Supply Chain Best Practice for Energy and Utility Companies is taking place on the 14th April at Hellidon Lakes Golf Club, Northamptonshire.
