A third party logistics company based in the north west of England is proving that size doesn't matter when it comes to offering exceptional service.
PDS International Ltd, which employs 60 people, is a family owned, independent company providing a range of logistics and supply chain services throughout the UK and Europe.
Lifestyle Marketing International Ltd, which sells the popular BEURER brand range of health and well-being products in the UK, started using PDS 18 months ago and says the service offered by the company has been outstanding.
Richard Webb, a Lifestyle director, says he has been impressed by the PDS approach and the fact that they do everything they can to support his business as well as adding value at every stage of the operation.
He explains: “When we started, they worked closely with us so they knew exactly what we needed. They invested both time and money in putting things in place to ensure they could deliver exactly what we required. Their approach was to find out what I needed for my business and then do everything possible to accommodate that.”
He added: “They also help by adding value where they can. For example, they advised me that the high quality packaging of the BEURER products meant that I would be able to get a higher volume per pallet. This meant fewer pallets to be transported and stored – resulting in cost savings for me – even though it meant less volume for them.”
Richard Webb says that the level of service he has received from PDS has far exceeded his expectations saying: “I really feel as though they care as much about my business as I do. They do not just store and distribute our products – they truly see themselves as part of our business. And I agree, they are a vital component in it. Time and again they have shown they really have the interests of my business at heart.”
PDS International, which was formed in 1995, offers a wide range of logistics services including warehousing and distribution, with capacity of around half a million square feet at its two sites. The company is also renowned for its value added services including; returns, reworks, customer service, fulfilment and marketing support.
