Following the establishment in 2002 of a UK subsidiary for the Kosme Group, plans have been developed for a further extension of the services provided from their site in Burton on Trent.
This has been necessitated by the escalating levels of equipment now being supplied through Kosme UK Ltd, to major food, drinks and other household product manufacturing groups in this country. They have also been awarded ‘approved supplier’ status for many sites, reflecting the levels of service and customer satisfaction being achieved.
Direct access by Kosme UK to a wealth of technical expertise available at the Kosme parent company in Italy is claimed as being a component in their success. This is now being enhanced with more UK staff to provide an even higher level of customer and technical support, while an increase in spare parts holding will also ensure that machine downtime can be minimised. In addition, Kosme UK Ltd are now able to offer scheduled maintenance contracts which will be of particular interest to customers running production critical operations.
The growing diversity of products now available from the Kosme group has played a significant part in their successful appeal to the UK market. Their self-adhesive, hot-melt and cold glue labelling machines cover a wide range of throughput speeds, container sizes and shapes (metal, glass and plastics) together with label size, shape and positioning requirements. Packaged products a diverse as high value drinks (spirits and wines), together with general food items, soft drinks, condiments, medicines, pharmaceuticals and household cleaning products can all be accommodated.
Specialised machines dedicated to labelling smaller containers, together with combination labellers and modular design machines can be supplied where maximum versatility for changing production requirements is a priority.
Other products also available for use in the general packaging area include filling machines together with bottle rinsing, sterilising and air blowing equipment. These are complemented by carton box erection, loading and sealing machines, as well as both palletising and de-palletising systems.
All equipment is state-of-the-art with electronic controls, easy programming, minimum maintenance and low running costs. They are designed for round-the-clock operation and are fully compliant with relevant safety legislation etc.
Senior Ivo Lovatti, president of Kosme SRL commented “The number of machines supplied to the UK market has increased substantially in the three years since the formation of the Kosme UK subsidiary, and the continued acceleration of UK business now represents a considerable and growing percentage of Kosme Group turnover.”
