Epsom-based trg Logistics has announced the appointment of Sam Weller to the position of Training Manager within the distribution arm of the company. In this newly created role, Sam will be responsible for the management of all Driver CPC planning, training standards, and the commercial delivery to all external and internal clients, reporting directly to Andy Frost, trg's Logistics Director (Distribution).
Prior to joining trg, Sam has had extensive experience in the planning, implementation of all driver licence acquisition in both non-vocational and vocational categories, along with the facilitation and business development of Government Funded programmes to both adult learners and apprentices within the Logistics Industry.
Sam has welcomed the challenge and says "the training and compliance issues in the supply of drivers to the logistics industry are becoming critical in the maintenance of legal requirements, with the deadline of the Driver CPC for HGV drivers fast approaching. As industry leaders in the provision of fully trained drivers to all clients, trg Logistics, through the implementation of its World Class Driver programme, must ensure that all legal and regulative issues are adhered to - so accurate planning and foresight is required."
Working previously in the private and public sector in varying managerial training appointments and recently working in Afghanistan for a large Logistics Company, supplying all logistic provision to the NATO forces, Sam Weller brings a wealth of experience to the commercial training sector and within trg.
