Employees at City Link, the UK's premium express delivery company are celebrating a new contract win worth more than £150,000 a year.
City Link, based in Silverstone Drive, on the Gallagher Business Park, will oversee the national distribution of consumer parcels and the delivery of extended warranty mailings for the UK's number one shower manufacturer, Nuneaton-based Triton.
The contract follows a successful three-month trial partnership between City Link and Triton.
Graham Neve, General Manager in Service at Triton, hailed the trial a major success.
He said: "We had been using another delivery company until recently but they underwent a major restructure. Following this we felt that some of our service requirements were not being met.
"For us, it is not about price and who is the cheapest. City Link had many strong selling points, not least its track and trace system.
"This has proven to be a tremendous help to us as when we have customers on the phone asking where their delivery is we can now give them the answer almost immediately.
"My colleagues and I felt the trial with City Link went very well. If any minor glitches did arise City Link were excellent at communicating them to us so we could keep our customers informed.
"We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with City Link."
Darren Batty, General Manager at City Link Coventry Depot, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded the contract with Triton.
"Here at City Link we pride ourselves on being very Customer focused. We are constantly seeking new ways in which we can improve our service for the benefit of existing and prospective Customers and our track and trace system, which proved to be a strong selling point with Triton, is just one example of this. We look forward to working with Triton and playing an important part in their day-to-day operations."
The Coventry Depot operates from a new 30,000 sq ft warehouse with a team of 100, operating a fleet of 40 vehicles handling parcels for up to 300 Customers each week.
City Link, which is this year celebrating its 40th anniversary, employs 5,500 people throughout the UK, operating 3,000 vehicles from a network of 85 Depots, handling approximately 350,000 parcels daily.
