Lichfield-based Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has recognised the dedication of its most seasoned staff by presenting them with Long Service Awards.
Held at Palletways’ National Hub in Lichfield, seven employees with more than 15 years’ service were awarded with £500 to mark their achievement and thank them for their devotion to working with Palletways.
Three of the Long Service Award recipients joined the company in its first year, each working on fork lifts in the Hub Operations team. Since starting with Palletways in 1994, they have moved in excess of six million pallets between them and have become an integral part of the network’s operations.
One such recipient, Andrew Hodgkinson, joined Palletways in May 1994 and had the honour of moving Palletways’ very first pallet. He has subsequently attended all hub openings across the entire European network to move the first pallet at each site ever since. Andrew is also dedicated to passing on his extensive experience, and as the Fork Lift Truck Senior Supervisor, he has travelled across Europe to train new hubs on ‘how to do it the Palletways way’.
Upon receiving the award, Andrew said: "I would like to thank Palletways for all the opportunities they have given to me. When I joined the company I could not imagine that I would be here nearly 20 years later, but the time has flown by. Here’s to the next 19 years!"
Martyn Young, Managing Director of Palletways UK Member Network, said: "The dedication shown by these employees is a shining example to all and these awards are a testament to their hard work. They possess a wealth of knowledge and have made a real diffidence to our network. I would personally like to thank them for all that they have done for Palletways"
Palletways has over 100 members in the Palletways UK network – Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network. The company’s distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share each other’s resources to deliver small consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.
