Lichfield-based Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has won two awards at the national Motor Transport Awards 2012 for ‘Best Use of Technology’ and ‘Innovation’.
The Palletways Archway Scanning System (P.A.S.S.) was awarded ‘Best Use of Technology’ – a world first scanning system that scans and photographs every pallet on its journey through its UK hub in Lichfield. Palletways won the ‘Innovation’ award for its web portal that provides its employees, Member companies and customers with a single point of access for all its services and data in real time.
Martyn Young, Palletways UK Managing Director, said: "We’re absolutely delighted to have won these prestigious accolades, particularly as both initiatives are industry firsts. They highlight our commitment to our customers by making a pallet’s journey, from start to finish, as seamless as possible, with full visibility."
Held at London’s Grosvenor House, the 27th Motor Transport Awards was the road transport industry event of the year. The awards were presented to Palletways by Jimmy Carr and Sean Lock.
