FAUN Zoeller Doncaster depot wins national SITA Award

The Doncaster-based service and maintenance centre of FAUN Zoeller UK has won an award for the best MOT first time pass rate incorporating the best FTA Gate Check results carried out by the Freight Transport Association (FTA) in the SITA Organisation.

This was awarded by the FTA’s account manager at SITA Maidenhead in March 2012 and is the second year running that the Doncaster centre has received this award.

FAUN Zoeller UK is a waste systems manufacturer that supplies refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) and road sweepers to local authorities and waste management companies across the UK.

Its depot, which employs 12 people, services over 150 RCVs every year on behalf of its customers across South Yorkshire.

Independent inspections carried out by the FTA over the past 12 months demonstrated that Doncaster depot’s fleet is maintained to a very high standard and as efficiently as possible.

During 2011 all vehicles that were processed by the Doncaster centre passed their MOTs first time. It is the third consecutive year the site has achieved a 100 per cent MOT pass rate.

FAUN Zoeller currently has a UK-wide network of over 10 depots that work to maintain its local council and private contractors’ vehicles.

Over 550 vehicles – including RCVs, Sweepers and Tractor Trailer units – are serviced by FAUN Zoeller depots each year and the company currently has a 97.5 per cent first time MOT pass rate.

Mick Dowson, FAUN Zoeller depot manager at Doncaster, said: "Our vehicles are used day in, day out in tough working conditions making regular maintenance key to ensuring collection services aren’t disrupted.

"The award is a testament to the team’s commitment to ensure the highest quality is consistently met."
