Europe’s second largest pallet pooling company, FHG IPP Logipal, has made two key senior appointments as it gears up for future growth. Phil Storer, formerly European commercial director, has been appointed to the new position of development director while Jacques Scherer has joined the company from Compass to replace him as European commercial director.
Roeland Moens, chief operating officer, FHG IPP Logipal said: "These are two significant senior management appointments as we aim to achieve our ambitious growth targets over the coming years and strengthen our market share across Europe.
"Phil Storer has unrivalled market knowledge and broad experience within our group and in the supply chain sector. He established and built up a successful pooling business in the UK and Ireland and more recently put in place a solid sales strategy for our pooling division. In his new role, he will play a key part in the delivery of key strategic growth opportunities within our pooling division. He will be responsible for overall new business strategy including evaluating opportunities for expanding our pooling business into new markets while also planning and managing the roll-out of new products. Additionally, Phil will assume responsibility for the brand positioning across the FHG group.
"Meanwhile, Jacques Scherer has joined us from Compass where he was vice president of development for France. In his new position as European commercial director, Jacques will pursue and develop the sales strategy. Jacques has a wealth of sales experience, including in pallet pooling, and has a proven track record in driving profitable growth. He has substantial knowledge and experience of commercial leadership and excellent international cross-functional management abilities."
Before Compass, Jacques Scherer worked for Rentokil Initial, latterly as European sales director, responsible for 18 countries, where he developed and led large multi-channel sales teams across Europe. His pallet pooling experience comes from four years working for Chep in France as country manager – sales and customer service director.
A sales director at Gartner Group, Jacques Scherer started his career as a sales representative at Xerox where he built up a solid 14-year career to become industry sector director.
Jacques Scherer, bilingual in French and English, studied at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Nantes and completed his formal education at the Ohio State University in the USA where he studied sales force productivity.
Married with two children, Jacques Scherer lives in Levallois, France.
