Firow supports Recycling Lives™ with Boughton PR18 Skip Loaders

Part of Firow’s latest re-order tranche of Boughton Power-Reach® PR18 skip loaders has been allocated to Preston-based Recycling Lives™, a very special operation which is actively supported by Gary Unsworth, Director of the leading specialist vehicle hire fleet provider.

The Recycling Lives™ charity (www.recyclinglives.org) acts as a safety net for vulnerable and marginalised people, offering accommodation, education, training and work experience to homeless and long-term unemployed individuals, with the aim of helping them back into full-time work and finding them a place to call their own. The charity’s work is supported by the successful commercial activities of Recycling Lives Limited, including community dot coms such as scrapcarnetwork.org and skiphirenetwork.org ,which are operated by the Queen’s Award-winning recycler and waste management solutions provider, with whom the Power-Reach® skip loaders are operating.

“The nature of the Recycling Lives™ operation demanded that we put in vehicles in which we could have complete confidence and trust. Moreover, they had to be ergonomically sound and easy to operate for newly trained operatives to feel at home and motivated to use them and work with them effectively,” says Gary Unsworth.

Boughton Engineering Group Sales & Marketing Director Steve Price says, “Firow was one of the very first hire operations to commit to multiple orders for the new Power-Reach® skip loader when it was launched. Successive batches of both skip loaders and hook loaders have continued to deliver consistently for Firow’s end-user customers and it is especially rewarding to us as a company to see some of those vehicles in service with such a worthwhile operation as Recycling Lives™.”

All the Boughton PR18 skip loaders in service with Recycling Lives™ incorporate Boughton’s patented Intacova® auto-sheeting system, roller jack legs, VBG automatic towing hitch and rear view camera. The units are mounted on DAF LF220 FA 4x2 chassis, supplied through Harris DAF.
