FLOGAS, one of the UK's largest LPG suppliers, prepares for winter in the height of summer

Whilst the summer season is in full swing, Flogas, one of the UK's largest LPG suppliers, has already started to review its delivery processes to ensure its customers don't get left in the cold this winter.

As part of Flogas' logistics review, the company's current bulk delivery processes will be tested, with recommendations being made by its newly appointed logistics expert, Mike Sacker.

In addition to the review, cylinder drivers will be trained to handle tankers, and depot workers will be trained to drive cylinder tanks, so no matter what the weather brings, there will always be someone to deliver LPG supplies to customers over the winter.

Mike Sacker, logistics expert at Flogas, said: "With the extreme weather conditions the country has had to endure over the past few years, the need to be fully prepared this winter is more important than ever before, and this is why we are reviewing our processes so early on in the year."

Lee Gannon, sales and marketing director at Flogas, added: "Customer service is our number one priority, and this review will really strengthen our existing delivery processes. With over 15 years experience in supply chain and transport planning, we believe Mike will be able to add significant value to the business, as well as the review, and we are delighted to have him on board."

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Mike has worked for a range of companies that include Christian Salvesen, Safeway, Exel, TDG Chemicals and DHL amongst others, and will report directly to the managing director of Flogas, Henry Cubbon.
