Two decades have passed since Brian Warbrick first started working with fork lift trucks and he has now been named winner of one of the materials handling industry’s highest accolades – an FLTA Archie.
Receiving the much-coveted award for Service to the Fork Lift Truck Association, Brian, from Manchester, said: "I am so very honoured to have been recognised by my peers for my years working with the Association. "
Brian, a former FLTA Chairman and President, first joined the organisation’s board in 1997 and soon made his mark by establishing a strategy group to help take the Association into the 21st century. "With my colleagues’ support," he says," we were able to meet the challenges of the new millennium to best serve our existing members and newcomers too."
As UK Sales Manager for De Lage Landen’s construction and industrial equipment, Brian is well aware of the needs of FLTA members and – crucially – their customers. In his current role, he is responsible for a 24-strong team that are financing materials handling equipment each year worth €180 million
Brian is a strong supporter of current FLTA chairman John Chappell’s campaign to raise industry standards. Brian explains: "In these uncertain times, providing the industry’s customers with long-term satisfaction is paramount. To ensure that FLTA Member Companies deliver the service customers want, we strive to provide them with the tools, support and encouragement they need. "
Colleagues, such as FLTA chief executive David Ellison, are delighted for Brian. "The Award was really well deserved," David explains. "Since being appointed to the Board, Brian’s dedication has made a positive impacted upon his fellow Directors and FLTA members. But it doesn’t end there. Over the years, Brian’s determination and constant efforts to push the Association forward have seen improvements throughout the materials handling industry, to the benefit all fork lift truck users."
