Forklift attachment firm set to plough through winter

One of the UK’s leading forklift attachment firms is gearing up for what is expected to be a colder-than-average winter by helping clients prepare for frost and snow.

Mid Wales-based Contact Attachments has been designing and manufacturing its range of forklift snow plough attachments for over 40 years, allowing its customers to remain operational during snowfall and icy weather.

The company manufactures a range of snow ploughs, including the Fixed Blade, Adjustable, and Sprung Loaded models which can be used to suit a wide range of applications. The Sprung Loaded and Adjustable ploughs come with a full adjustment to the blade, allowing it to sweep left, right, or straight ahead, and the Fixed Blade is permanently angled to allow snow to be swept to the left. All ploughs come with heavy duty steel wear strips with the option of additional 20mm thick rubber blade inserts.

Jason Cadman, Technical Sales Consultant at Contact Attachments, said: “With the winter months fast approaching us, and the Met Office suggesting that this year’s winter will be colder than the average, many companies are already considering their snow management plans.

“The UK rarely experiences major fluctuations in the weather but it’s highly likely that as the cooler air arrives, so too will the snow, and this can really catch people off-guard and effect their day-to-day routines. With the use of a forklift snow plough attachment, they can rest safe in the knowledge that they can utilise them as they need to ensure business operations continue to run smoothly.”

The steel ploughs come in various widths, ranging from 1,220mm to 2,130mm, and bolt on castors aid self-levelling during the snow clearing process.

“All of our ploughs are designed and manufactured to ISO 9001 quality procedures, are CE marked, and have been stress analysed to eliminate any weak points that can occur with the pushing of heavy loads such as compacted and layered snow,” Jason concluded.

Contact Attachments has been designing and manufacturing forklift truck attachments from its base in Newtown, Mid Wales, for over 40 years and is recognised as the quality leader of truck attachments in the UK.
