The Fortec Distribution Network has enjoyed another year of growth with total volumes of traffic up by 19 per cent in 2010.
Despite the extreme winter weather and difficult economic conditions the Watford Gap – based network has had a successful year.
It has built on and exceeded the growth experienced in 2009, when volumes increased by 11 per cent compared with 2008.
The delivery service also performed exceptionally well throughout the challenging weather in the run-up to the Christmas period.
Neil Hodgson, Managing Director of Fortec, said: "I would like to pay tribute to our members who, when blizzards were closing motorways and airports, went to great lengths to ensure their deliveries were made.
"Their fortitude and determination not to be beaten by the worst winter weather for decades show the underlying strength of the Fortec Distribution Network and its dedication to customers."
During the past year Fortec has also made substantial improvements to operations at its Hub, including providing a new fleet of forklift trucks, which have resulted in better productivity and increased customer satisfaction.
Mr Hodgson said: "Despite the prolonged economic downturn, the network has had a fantastic year in 2010, and we believe with our increased investment volumes will continue to grow in 2011."
