Fortec Pallet Distribution Network enjoy record volumes in December

Watford Gap based the Fortec Pallet Distribution Network enjoyed record volumes throughout December.

The month finished 20 per cent up year on year when comparing December 2009 with December 2008.

Neil Hodgson, who was recently promoted to Managing Director of Fortec, commented: "We've had a fantastic month in December with each week better than the previous one.

"In fact the year in total was 11 per cent up on 2008 which in the current economic climate was a healthy result," he said.

Hodgson continued: "We have successfully carried out a degree of internal re-organisation with a greater focus on sales to match our existing high levels of service.

"A closer working relationship as part of Geodis Calberson is also paying dividends in terms of new contracts and increased traffic," he said. "The introduction of our new advanced IT system Fortrack has also enhanced our efficiency and the end result is an improvement on the bottom line."

Looking towards 2010, Hodgson added: "We have started the New Year the way we ended it which is particularly encouraging. We are however by no means complacent. The market is still tough but we are cautiously optimistic that we can have another positive year in 2010."
