Ambient, chilled and FMCG supply-chain specialist, Fowler Welch, has secured a significant contract with Winterbotham Darby - the award-winning supplier of foods to the retail and foodservice markets.
The contract will a see Fowler Welch store, pick and despatch in excess of 5m cases per year through its strategically located facility at Paddock Wood, Kent. Product will be distributed to Winterbotham's UK customer base, nationwide, with future opportunity for additional growth over the contract term.
The contract win will see the introduction of 14 new employees, all employed from the local area. It will also significantly reduce Winterbotham's carbon footprint through the Fowler Welch Kent based operation.
It was the ability to provide a truly bespoke service that prompted Winterbotham Darby to select Fowler Welch, as Ian Render, Operations Manager at Winterbotham Darby, explains, "The Fowler Welch solution simply ticked all the boxes," he said, "we run an intensive operation which places high demands on the supply chain.
