Schoeller Allibert, the world leader in plastic reusable transit packaging (RTP), has launched its Spring 2013 promotion aimed especially at the fruit and vegetables and fresh produce sector.
The company is offering savings across a range of versatile produce trays and harvesting containers. The special discounts will apply to orders placed by the end of March, for delivery in April.
Included in the promotion are Maxinest stack-nest produce trays, field crates and a potato chitting tray. Completing the line-up is the Ventilated Geobox with three runners, which allows tipping and is well suited for bulk harvesting and distribution.
Simon Knights, UK commercial director of Schoeller Allibert, explains: "Customers distributing fresh fruit and vegetables have very specific requirements for their transit packaging. To ensure produce arrives on the shelves in good condition, without bruising, splitting or showing signs of decay, containers need to offer maximum ventilation as well as protection, cushioning produce from knocks and bumps, to preserve quality.
"The five products we’ve selected for our spring promotion match those specifications perfectly, and plastic RTP offers additional benefits over wood or cardboard. Our containers can withstand high-temperature washing to minimise the risk of contamination and promote hygiene, and the reusable nature of the product delivers considerable environmental benefits over disposable packaging."
Each tray and container in the promotion is suitable for use throughout the harvesting process, from field to processing or point of sale.
