From mail order to gift pack with Charapak

Leading corrugated packaging and display manufacturer Charapak has extended its range of solutions for the mail order and internet retailing sector with an innovative transit pack that can be transformed into a gift pack after delivery.

The new There & Back Gift Pack is an extension of Charapak's innovative original version that enables consumers to return unwanted items easily, safely and in their original condition. The Gift Pack is a reversible option with the outer mailing pack for initial delivery produced in a standard brown recycled liner while the inside is finished in a high quality print that can incorporate all types of eye-catching and colourful designs. Following delivery, the pack can be reversed and the contents resealed inside to provide an attractive and safe presentation box.

Like the original There & Back Pack, the new version combines cost savings with flexibility. In particular, unlike competitor offerings, the application of the adhesive strip does not restrict high speed corrugator performance or planning meaning high throughput can be maintained to maximise production efficiencies. Equally important the adhesive can be applied in any flute direction enabling it to be placed wherever it is required on a box or pack design. Each box is packed flat but ready assembled, thus reducing significantly the amount of floor space required for the packing operation, and can be folded out ready to use very quickly.

The Gift Pack version features two adhesive strips, the first of which is used to seal the box initially for despatch to the consumer. After the delivery, the pack is reversed and the second strip can be revealed for resealing. The pack can be tailored for any product size requirements.

"We believe our new pack presents a unique solution for internet and mail order shopping, providing additional convenience for the end consumer and enabling retailers to offer a value-added service to their customers," comments Charapak Managing Director Richard Smith.

"Equally important, the robustness of the pack, both during transit and as a presentation box, ensures the safety and integrity of the products it contains."
