Over the past 25 years the Motor Transport Awards have set the bench-mark of excellence in road transport. Entries are now open for 2015, and this year the Freight Transport Association (FTA) is sponsoring the Operational and Compliance Excellence Award.
Considered the ‘Oscars’ of the freight and logistics industry, the MT Awards set an important benchmark for operators who are shortlisted or win demonstrating that they have reached the very highest standard.
The shortlist and winners of the Awards are chosen by experts drawn from the industry. Each category is judged by its own panel normally comprising of around four people selected from the industry for their expertise.
Entries will be judged by a panel of leading industry figures with years of experience in road transport, who are said to be looking for entries that ‘grab their attention’, and those that are ‘tailored to the category criteria’.
One of the judges taking part in scrutinising the entries is FTA’s Director of Standards, Audit and Accreditation - Sally Thornley who said:
“FTA is delighted to be sponsoring the Motor Transport Operational Compliance Excellence Award 2015. As a judge of this category I will be looking for an operator who runs a highly compliant fleet with effective systems in place to manage their transport operation. In addition, they should provide evidence of high levels of customer service along with an efficient and profitable operation, and a strategy for the development and training of their drivers and other staff within the organisation. I would like to wish all those who do enter every good luck.”
The deadline for entries for the 2015 MT Awards is 20 March, and the finalists will be revealed on 11 May with the winners announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on Wednesday 1 July.
