Full House as Boughton completes whole vehicle type approval programme

Boughton Engineering has completed its Whole Vehicle Type Approval programme for all its mainstream ‘carrier’ chassis types – including DAF, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo. Approvals cover both hook loaders and skip loaders and for operating weights of 18 to 32 tonnes GVW. Remaining carrier chassis types will be completed by the turn of the year.

Whole Vehicle Type Approval requires a range of body fitting and equipment compliance, including side guards, rear under-run protection, coupling systems where fitted and other safety features.

Skan Group Sales & Marketing Director, Steve Price, says: “The conduct of this process has really underlined the added value of Boughton’s in-house and UK-based engineering capability. We have some first class engineers who have worked on this programme and we have been able to resolve any issues quickly and effectively, working in close collaboration with chassis manufacturers’ own teams.”
