GAC India delivers the thrills of the track for debut F1 race

When Delhi played host to India's first ever Formula One race, GAC was part of the team that helped bring the excitement of high octane motor racing to town.

GAC India was appointed to handle the logistics of transporting and setting up the F1 Ferrari replica over a 54-day period packed with promotional events at local companies, hotels, bars and much more, leading up to the exciting F1 race. That meant providing a comprehensive package of event logistics services from car handling, transportation between event sites, storage, and obtaining the necessary permits from the authorities. GAC also deployed security staff around the clock to protect the valuable high performance vehicle entrusted to them, and specialist cleaners to maintain its race-ready shine.

A team of 18 workers was assigned for the loading and unloading of the car. To ensure fast and seamless operations, tailor-made ramps were made to get it into a specially padded truck. To meet the tight schedule, all operations were carried out after midnight, in the very early hours of the morning.

Sunil Kapoor, GAC India's Regional Manager - North, says: "We were thrilled and proud to be involved in the debut Formula One event in India, and its attendant promotional events. Providing event logistics for such high profile activity was a major challenge, but one which we met successfully."

The successful completion of the project showcased the competency of GAC's event logistics team and lead to more opportunities. Ferrari India and the Jaypee Group have approached GAC India to provide support for their upcoming shows.
