Global Shipper Forum puts the spotlight on shippers at Air Cargo Forum

The Global Shipper Forum GSF has teamed up with TIACA for its annual Air Cargo Forum in Paris this week to ensure that shippers’ views are at the centre of discussions.

TIACA – a global not-for-profit association representing all major segments of the air cargo and logistics industry – is holding its 28th biennial event at Porte de Versailles. GSF is taking part in key conference sessions and holding two key workshops over the two days.

The first in conjunction with Cargo iQ focuses on how the supply chain can build on existing airline performance work to optimise its operations. The second explores innovative ways in which air cargo performance can be enhanced by reducing red-tape to cut the door-to-door air cargo chain by a half.

Both sessions will include real air cargo innovators, seasoned industry experts and top international regulators to report on progress on key projects and measures underway to transform the performance of the air cargo supply chain.

GSF will also host the Shippers’ Pavilion in booth 1369, showcasing shippers’ policies and facilitating contact between shippers attending the ACF and their suppliers.

Chris Welsh, Secretary-General of GSF, said: “We aim to showcase shippers’ policies and facilitate contact between shippers attending the Air Cargo Forum and their suppliers. Going forward, we will strengthen our links with the air cargo industry.

“In that regard, key shippers and GSF members will be directly contributing to TIACA’s newly established Shippers’ Advisory Group to help shape TIACA’s air cargo policies and strategies. We will also meet with representatives of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to explore how we can strengthen shippers’ influence in shaping air transport policies at the highest levels.”
