Potter Group Logistics is proud to announce that long term customer Greencore Grocery has renewed its ambient finished food products storage and distribution contract for a further two years. The contract is worth approximately £3.2 million.
With 22 convenience foods manufacturing sites in the UK and US, Greencore Group is the leading international producer of convenience foods. The company provides a wide range of chilled, frozen and ambient foods to major retail, manufacturing and foodservice customers.
Greencore Grocery has retained Potter Group Logistics as its third party logistics partner for 12 years, storing its ingredients and packaging at Potter’s Selby distribution centre (DC). In 2009, this business was extended to include the storage and distribution of ambient finished food products.
The success of the partnership over the last three years has led Greencore to continue the relationship with this new contract which includes timed deliveries of finished products to some of the UK’s major food retailers and wholesalers. In addition, shunting operations for both ingredients and finished goods are handled between Greencore’s factory and Potter’s DC.
"Customer retention is extremely important to our business and it is only achieved by continuing to offer excellent service," comments Matthew Lamb, managing director of Potter Group Logistics. "We look forward to furthering our relationship with Greencore, adding value and exploring opportunities for many years to come."
Jeremy Cotton, supply chain director of Greencore Grocery adds, "Potter Group Logistics has stored raw materials on our behalf for some years. Recently, they started handling the storage and delivery of finished goods to our customers. I am pleased to say that they give a good, reliable service and I look forward to developing our relationship with them further as we expand into the future."
Potter Group Logistics has six distribution centres located in the UK, it offers warehousing, multimodal transport and distribution services to many different industry sectors including food and drink, pharmaceutical, chemical and FMCG.
