Hellmann offers new textile facilities in Bangladesh

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK is offering its fashion and textile customers new added-value services in Bangladesh, following the completion of a new inspection platform and warehousing facility by Bangladeshi logistics partners BAEI.

The 3000sq ft inspection platform will exclusively provide Hellmann customers with modern, efficient and secure inspection facilities in Bangladesh – a region that provides many UK clothing retailers with manufacturing and production services.

Andreas Lohmeier, Sales and Development Director for Hellmann in the UK commented:
“The new capabilities provided by our logistics partners in the Bangladesh region, BAEI, will provide our customers with cutting-edge inspection facilities at the early stages of the supply-chain.”

“By offering this service close to the manufacturing sources in Bangladesh, our customers have the opportunity to significantly reduce inefficiencies caused by transporting garments and textiles that eventually do not pass the inspection process.”

BAEI has been working closely with Hellmann Logistics for six years, and this new service element is already in use for key fashion accounts. The inspection platform facilities are located near to Hellmann's Bangladesh offices in Dhaka and include a light box and a GSM cutter and weigh machine. Garment washing, drying, folding and ironing machinery is also incorporated at the new building.

The inspection area is supported with 10,000sq ft of warehousing space and comprehensive pick-and-pack facilities. Goods are monitored as they enter and leave the site using state-of-the-art IT systems, and security guards operate around the premises twenty-four hours a day. Overnight accommodation areas for customers' inspection officers have also been included.
