HGV Direct appointed as Texaco Distributor

HGV Direct has been appointed as an Authorised Texaco Distributor. Operations Director Chris Knowles comments, "We are pleased to be working in collaboration with one of the world’s biggest fuel and lubricant producers. As vehicle engines have become more complex, so have lubricants been developed to deliver enhanced performance. An oil should never be considered as a ‘generic’ purchase by hauliers and HGV drivers; different oils have different features and benefits. The choice of oil can be very complex and we have skilled staff on hand to help customers select the correct Texaco oil for the vehicle and can offer advice on all aspects of lubrication to maximise running efficiency."

Chris continues, "Oil doesn’t just ensure that moving engine components are lubricated to avoid friction, they can have a big impact on the engine’s efficiency; with the rising cost of petrol and diesel, this can all have an impact on the operator’s bottom line. When you couple that with reduced downtime, maintenance costs and engine lifetime, the choice of oil is a very important one. But more than that, the choice of incorrect or inferior oil can mean an expensive repair bill. For example, some oils are not compatible with engines with a Diesel Particulate Filter. Some products comply with ACEA E9 applications whereas others do not. Additionally, manufacturers will recommend different oils for different engines."

Chris sums up, "All hauliers are looking to reduce input costs, just to stay in business, so although it may be tempting to cut corners, engine and gearbox oil should not be one of those areas – especially when you can get a premium product at a competitive price from HGV Direct. We offer free same day delivery locally or next day delivery nationwide to most parts of the UK."
