Strapex, one of the world's leading suppliers of end of line strapping equipment, has further extended its acclaimed SMG range of vertical strapping equipment with two new additions.
The SMG50 and SMG55 are both fully automatic, arch-based machines offering high throughput of up to 70 units per minute alongside simple operation.
The SMG50 uses 5mm wide strap and can achieve tensions of up to 300N, while for heavier duty applications, the SMG55 can accommodate either 9mm or 12mm wide strap and reach tensions of a maximum 450N.
Both boast the simple touch panel control system which is a feature of the SMG range, with strap tensions easily adjustable via a simple push button. Conveyor speed is fully adjustable and there is a choice of standard strapping modes.
The SMG50 comes in two sizes and can cope with products up to 800mm long x 600mm wide, while there are three size options for the SMG55 with the largest capable of strapping loads of up to 800mm x 800mm.
However, each machine can cope with packages as small as 100mm wide and 150mm long. Maximum load weight for each machine is 35kg.
Strap threading and end ejection are both automatic, while the machines are wheel-mounted for easy movement and use anywhere with a power supply.
Both products incorporate the fewest possible moving parts to ensure optimum reliability and offer robust, compact design.
All consumable and after-sales service are also available from Strapex, providing a complete 'one-stop shop' solution.
Scott MacPherson, Sales Manager for Strapex, commented: "These products extend the capability of the SMG range which has been very warmly received in a variety of sectors since its launch in 2006. Indeed, the demand for this type of product has driven the rapid development and early growth of the SMG range.
"The Strapex SMG line-up can now truly cater for virtually any in-line strapping requirement where fast throughput, ease of operation and consistently tensioned strapping are required."
