High visibility location signing in the spotlight

ASG Services used this year's Logistics Link North Exhibition to introduce and demonstrate its latest innovation to the UK warehouse storage market. The centre-piece of the organisation's stand were high visibility reflective location signs which, because of their long range scanning capability, can have a dramatic impact on warehouse layout and operational efficiency.

Well established in ASG Services' other key market – North America – the development features alpha-numeric and barcode identification as part of a sign which can then be suspended, typically, over a specific location within the warehouse. The reflective nature of the material used then enables a hand-held scanner to be used from as much as 16 metres away, eradicating instantly the need for operators to position themselves adjacent to a location label. This can generate significant time savings and, because there is virtually no risk of wear and tear, longevity is significantly enhanced.

“Of particular relevance to block-stacking applications, the new addition to our range is a logical alternative to our well established floor embedded labelling system,” comments ASG Services' Managing Director Tony Gresty. “As there is minimal risk of damage because, once suspended overhead each sign need never be touched and is thus maintenance free, we believe the introduction at the show will open up new opportunities throughout UK warehousing.”

ASG Services' stand will also highlight the company's standard range of location labels that are used extensively in application environments from ambient to frozen. Available for racking, shelving or tote bin applications, installation by experienced ASG personnel invariably sees the company working closely with warehouse management systems companies and IT departments to help ensure effective interaction between all operational areas of the warehouse.

ASG Services' floor painting and line marking capability also comes under the spotlight at the show. With typical applications including paint and coatings for internal flooring as well as the creation of pedestrian walkways and forklift truck routing, the company can point to a range of both internal and external installations each of which dispels the view that 'floor painting and lane marking does not last'. Its proven application method of dust-free shot-blasting followed by installation and sealing to a choice of material depths, is at the heart of its success in this specialist field.

ASG Services' growing success in the supply of blank labels and printing media is also featured on the stand. In particular, emphasis is being placed on its belief in providing a reliable source of supply at highly competitive prices – most importantly tailored to the specific demands and needs of each individual customer.

Details of the company's range of signage solutions – ideal for internal and external promotional, information and safety applications – completed the company's presentation at the exhibition. Using material selected specifically for longevity and versatility, ASG Services can accommodate customers' existing artwork or create new images for a variety of short, medium and long-term application needs.

Visitors to stand N° 60 did not only obtain details of the full range of products and services – many of which are also on display – but they also gained from the comprehensive service and support capability upon which ASG Services' success is based.
