The development of ASDA's brand new import centre at Teesport , Middlesborough, went so smoothly that ASDA has awarded Hörmann UK with a Certificate of Achievement in appreciation of its role in the development.
Hörmann was the chosen supplier for all of the loading bay doors for ASDA's first purpose built import centre at Teesport.
Altogether Hörmann installed thirty four loading bay doors, 23 of which were raised using Hörmann's precast concrete dock, a high quality finished floor slab design between the dock levellers. It allows easy installation of the Hörmann suspended frame model dock leveller.
Hörmann introduced its new, self adjusting, dock buffer to the development. Which raises and falls with the vehicles suspensions as loading / unloading takes place.
Hörmann's 1000mm long telescopic lip dock levellers were also installed, these allow greater flexibility to position and adjust the lip at all times to a safe position on the back of the vehicle.
The ASDA Certificate of Achievement was presented by Andy Walker, Head of ASDA's New Build Division, who commented; "ASDA's goals are to provide World Class facilities to support both our business needs and those of our colleagues, the facility at Teesport exceeds both these requirements. Hörmann's high standards of workmanship, service and quality product played a major role in ensuring that Asda achieved its goals on this project"
