Howard Tenens was delighted to support The Meningitis Trust at its recent charity golf day. Ben Morris, Managing Director, said, "We aim to support a different local charity at every annual golf day and this year we managed to raise £450 towards The Meningitis Trust. Support from Howard Tenens and other companies enable the Meningitis Trust to continue to provide vital services to people who need it most."
Today, more than 500,000 people living in the UK have had meningitis, and thousands more have been affected by the disease within their family. It is a cruel and life threatening disease that can change a person's future through death or disablement in just a few short hours. Whilst the disease can strike anyone, of any age, children and young people are particularly vulnerable. In fact, meningitis remains responsible for more deaths in children under the age of five than any other infectious disease.
The Meningitis Trust celebrates a milestone in 2011 - its 25th anniversary; a quarter of a century of supporting people as they face life after meningitis. The Trust organises many different events ranging from coffee breaks, running marathons to sponsorship challenges.
