Just released to the market is Hyster's new L02.0 series of low level order pickers, now with powerful AC motors and electric power steering, to maximise order picking productivity. This is the latest in a series of developments in Hyster's full range of state-of-the-art warehouse equipment.
The new series was developed, designed and tested in collaboration with end-users, with the objective of delivering the lowest cost of operation in any application. The LO2.0 series is available with standard, Advance or Advance + configuration offering a solution tailored to the needs of specific customer applications; including large scale warehouse logistics, food and beverage storage and distribution, and cold store operations.
Tailored solutions for high productivity and faster throughput
The comprehensive range of models and options extends the choice of truck configuration to provide the best solution for each customer's application and to maximise pick face access. The standard LO2.0M model, with a 2.2 kW AC electric motor and mechanical steering, is ideal for applications which require a hardworking, reliable low-level order picker for day in, day out operation. The LO2.0M Advance is suited to highly intensive order-picking operations that will benefit from the powerful 4kW electric motor and the productivity advantages of power steering. The LO2.0 Advance Plus has been designed for very large warehousing operations where loads need to be carried over long distances. This model also features an intermediate step-up plate mounted in the operator backrest to facilitate intermittent second level picking.
Powerful AC drive motors, introduced for the first time on Hyster's low level order pickers, deliver powerful acceleration, high torque and rapid direction changes to meet the demands of frequent stop and go operation along the pick route.
The energy efficient MOSFET high frequency speed controller, large battery capacities, from 200 Ah to 620 Ah, and battery vertical, or optional side, extraction promote extended shift life and maximum truck uptime, contributing to operational efficiency with outstanding productivity.
Superior ergonomic features across the series
The comfort and productivity of the operator were high on the list of LO2.0 series product design objectives. Hyster has engineered the tiller head with the latest ergonomic considerations in mind. All the controls are located close to the tiller arms. The butterfly buttons allow the speed, travel direction and braking to be controlled with great sensitivity and precision. To further assist the operator, the controls for lifting and lowering are easily accessible and are located at the side of the tiller head so that they can be conveniently operated with either hand.
The truck platform, with cushioned rubber mat and 'man-on-board' sensor, is at a conveniently low height from the ground allowing the operator to step on and off easily, consistent with the needs of low-level order picking applications. The platform itself is longer and wider, allowing operators more space for movement and enabling them to pick from both sides of an aisle, boosting their productivity. A height adjustable support cushion, adjustable to suit the height of the operator and his preferred working position also provides protection to the rear of the platform.
