Hyster at Cemat 2005

Since the last Cemat exhibition in Germany, Hyster, the only global, full line supplier of materials handling equipment, has benefited from huge investment in new product development. In 2005, the results of this investment were very apparent on the Hyster/Zeppelin stand.

Innovative product development was clearly demonstrated by Hyster's new Fortens range of internal combustion trucks; enhancements made to the electric counterbalance range with ACX; and the warehouse equipment range, including the successful Matrix reach truck series. The giant of the Hyster product range, Hyster's ReachStacker, was also on display.

Hyster's philosophy of 'Strong Partners. Tough Trucks.' sums up the company's intention to be the first choice partner for major users worldwide. By offering the most extensive range of durable, well engineered products combined with outstanding service and support capability, delivered through the strongest global dealer network, Hyster is able to match the needs of the world's most demanding operations.

The new Fortens™ range: A quantum leap in lift-truck dependability

For the first time in Europe, Hyster presented the groundbreaking Fortens H1.6-

2.0 FT series. This is the smaller capacity version of the Fortens H2.0-3.5FT series of internal combustion lift trucks, launched in Europe only this summer. The company has invested more $130m over a five year period in research, design and manufacture in order to ensure world class dependability. It has researched customers' requirements, employed the best virtual, bench and field-testing in the industry and instituted new design and manufacturing processes to ensure that each Fortens truck delivers reliability standards that exceed anything in the industry.

The result is a range of trucks that represents a quantum leap in added value for customers through cost-effective application solutions. Customer benefits include low costs of ownership, outstanding dependability, ergonomics that operators prefer and remarkable serviceability. There are several base truck packages to choose from, along with a choice of engines, transmissions, hydraulics and cooling systems, enabling users to match the truck configuration to their individual application requirements and business needs.

New application driven, AC-powered warehouse trucks

Hyster also demonstrated its continuing strength in the warehouse truck market. Now with powerful AC motors and advanced electric power steering, the Hyster P2.0S series of platform pallet trucks and S1.2S – 1.5S series of platform stackers have recently been released onto the market. These latest additions to the Hyster full warehouse product line are designed to boost performance, operator productivity and energy efficiency. Each model offers a choice of configurations to match individual applications and help customers achieve their throughput and low-cost of operation objectives.

Another recent Hyster release is the L02.0 series of low level order pickers, also with powerful AC motors and electric power steering. Available with standard, Advance or Advance + configuration, these models offer a solution tailored to the needs of specific customer applications; including large scale warehouse logistics, food and beverage storage and distribution, and cold store operations.

More ergonomic control options on Hyster's ACX Electrics

Hyster has increased the range of options available on its successful J1.60 – 2.00XMT ACX electric counterbalance series with the addition of joystick control. This follows on from the introduction onto the range last year of the fatigue-reducing e-hydraulic arm rest incorporating mini-levers and automatic park brake, a feature which has proved extremely popular and has exceeded all Hyster's sales expectations.

Impressive additions to Hyster's ReachStacker range

At Cemat, Hyster showcased further enhancements to its tough and versatile ReachStacker range. These take the form of an additional four new model configurations, offering increased lifting capacity options for first and second row container applications. With the extension of the Hyster ReachStacker range, customers now have a choice of ten trucks, each with either container handling or intermodal attachment, to meet the most demanding applications worldwide.

The most complete full line range in the industry

Visitors to the Hyster stand were among the first to see, the latest series of the Fortens, Hyster's new class leading range of internal combustion lift trucks.

This is the most recent example of the strength of the company's, full line, state of the art product range. With Hyster's Matrix, heading up the warehouse product range and the ReachStacker demonstrating the company's capability in ports and terminals. These are just some of the products that have brought Hyster its increasing success with major customers, in demanding operations worldwide.
